THE BASICS
Scout Gallagher had three hits, including her fourth home run of the season, and three RBIs to lead Saint Louis to a 9-5 victory over SIUE Wednesday evening at the Billiken Sports Center.

Anna Christ pitched 2 2/3 innings of strong relief to earn her first collegiate win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis sent 10 batters to the plate and scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Abby Mallo's two-run double followed a pair of walks. Another walk put runners at first and second for Gallagher, who registered her first RBI with a single. Kendall Johnson capped the scoring with a two-run single.
•SIUE got on the board with two runs in the third, but the Billikens matched those tallies in their half of the inning. Jane Kaniecki singled, and pinch runner Addie Duttlinger scored on Gallagher's towering blast over the left-center field wall.
•The Cougars scored twice to cut the lead to 7-4 in the fourth.
•In the Saint Louis fourth, Natalie Sullivan singled and later scored on Kaniecki's sacrifice fly.
•The Bills made it 9-4 in the fifth. After Gallagher led off with a single, pinch runner Kate Proffitt advanced on Johnson's sacrifice bunt and Allie Marietta's single before scoring on Karsen Jany's sacrifice fly.
•SIUE plated a run in the sixth and had the tying run on deck in the seventh, but reliever Taylor Hochman escaped the jam.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Christ allowed just one run (unearned) and four hits and did not walk a batter.
•Abby Ulsas doubled and singled.
