THE BASICS
Saint Louis split an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader with Saint Joseph's Saturday, falling 3-2 in eight innings in the opener and rebounding for an 8-3 victory in the nightcap.

Abby Ulsas had five hits in the twinbill, while
Kendall Johnson,
Natalie Sullivan and
Scout Gallagher tallied three hits apiece. Gallagher homered twice and drove in four runs in game two in support of
Isabel Royle, who picked up her fifth win of the season in the circle.

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Following a double by Johnson and a single by
Allie Marietta, Ulsas put Saint Louis on the board with an RBI single in the top of the third inning.
•Saint Joseph's took a 2-1 lead in the fourth.
•SLU tied the score in the fifth when
Karsen Jany's single plated Gallagher, who led off the inning with a double.
•Saint Joseph's claimed victory with a run in the eighth.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Ulsas added two singles for a three-hit game.
•Johnson also had a single to post a two-hit outing.

Natalie Sullivan singled.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Billikens took a 2-0 lead in the third. Jany walked and Ulsas singled to start the inning. Jany scored on Sullivan's double, and
Abby Mallo's sacrifice fly brought Ulsas home.
•The Hawks pulled even with a two-run fourth.
•Saint Louis responded right away in the fifth. Mallo and
Jane Kaniecki singled, and Gallagher's three-run home run scored pinch runner
Addie Duttlinger and Kaniecki.
•The Bills made it 7-2 in the sixth with the help of two Saint Joseph's errors. Ulsas (single) and Sullivan (double) collected an RBI apiece.
•Gallagher smacked another home run, her sixth of the season, leading off the seventh for an 8-2 Billiken advantage.
•Saint Joseph's scored once in its half of the seventh.

GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Royle scattered seven hits and struck out two. She escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fifth and a two-on, two-out situation in the second without allowing a run.
•Johnson recorded a single.
