THE BASICS
The upper portion of the Saint Louis batting order provided plenty of offense, and Isabel Royle and Anna Christ combined on a six-hitter as the Billikens defeated Saint Joseph's 8-1 Sunday afternoon to win the Atlantic 10 Conference series two games to one.

The top five hitters in the SLU lineup combined to go 9-for-20 with eight RBIs, a home run, two doubles, a triple and three walks. Royle notched her sixth victory of the season and second win in the series, and Christ pitched the final two innings.

The Billikens have won six of their last eight games, including four of six in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis scored first, posting a run in the top of the second inning. Chloe Rhine led off with a single, advanced to third on a wild pitch and a sacrifice, and scored on Abby Ulsas' sacrifice fly.
•Saint Joseph's picked up its only run of the game in its half of the second.
•The Billikens erupted for four runs in the fourth. Ulsas delivered an RBI single, Natalie Sullivan smacked a two-run triple, and Abby Mallo doubled in the final run.
•Saint Louis increased the lead to 7-1 in the sixth as Sullivan drew a leadoff walk and Mallo followed with her team-leading 10th home run of the season.
•The Bills concluded the scoring in the seventh. Following Allie Marietta's leadoff double, pinch runner Ashley Marietta advanced to third on a groundout and scored on Sullivan's bunt single.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES
