ST. LOUIS – The Saint Louis University baseball team completed the sweep with a 17-2 win over South Dakota State on Sunday.
The Jackrabbits got on the board first with a solo homerun in the first, but the Billikens answered with four runs in the bottom of the first with a three-run shot by
Riley Iffrig and a sacrifice fly from
Ian Blazier.
Austin Neuweg scored off a wild pitch in the second to push the lead to 5-1. The Billikens then scored five runs in both the third and fourth innings to go up 15-1.
South Dakota State scored one more run off a homerun in the fifth inning.
Hank Gomric hit a two RBI single to bring the game to its final score of 17-2.
Josh Cunningham earned the win after 5.0 innings of work and five strikeouts.
