DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Saint Louis University baseball team fell, 6-0, to Davidson on Friday evening.
The Wildcats, who sit in first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference, scored two runs in both the second and third innings, then added one run in the fifth and one in the eighth.
The Billiken bats struggled to generate offense, as Ethan Sitzman and Riley Iffrig were the only SLU players to record a hit. Hayden Moore also reached base after being hit by a pitch.
Davidson's Wilson Perkins recorded 15 strikeouts and issued no walks over 8.0 innings of work.
Saint Louis will look to get back on track in Game 2 of the series, scheduled for Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Central. There will be no ESPN+ broadcast for Saturday's game.
