THE BASICS
Natalie Sullivan had five hits, including a walk-off home run in game one, and four RBIs, and
Taylor Hochman continued her dominant pitching as Saint Louis swept George Mason in an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader Friday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center, giving the Billikens a three-game series sweep.

The Billikens overcame a 6-1 deficit to capture the opener 8-6 in eight innings and won the nightcap 3-2 behind Hochman's four-hitter.

SLU (25-19, 14-5 A-10) has registered 10 consecutive victories, the second-longest winning streak in program history, and has won 16 of its last 19 games overall.

In addition, the Billikens set one school-record winning streak and tied another. Their 12 straight A-10 regular-season victories have broken the previous mark of 11, and their nine home wins in a row match the Saint Louis record. The Bills have won 14 of their last 16 conference games.

Abby Mallo collected her 55th RBI of the season in game two, breaking the previous school record of 54 she set in 2023.

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•George Mason scored two runs in each of the first three innings.
•Saint Louis plated its first run in the bottom of the first.
Karsen Jany led off with a walk, advanced to third on
Abby Ulsas' sacrifice and a Mason throwing error on the play and scored on Sullivan's sacrifice fly.
•The Billikens got back in the game with a three-run fourth inning. Mallo was hit by a pitch leading off and scored on
Jane Kaniecki's double.
Chloe Rhine's one-out single scored pinch runner
Sophia Boente.
Kendall Johnson forced Rhine at second, scooted to second on a throwing error and scored on
Allie Marietta's single.
•SLU drew a run closer in the fifth. Singles by Sullivan and Mallo and a walk to Kaniecki loaded the bases, and
Scout Gallagher delivered a sacrifice fly.
•The Bills pulled even with a sixth-inning run. Johnson was hit by a pitch, Jany reached on an error and Ulsas walked to load the bases for Sullivan, who singled in the tying run.
•Ulsas smacked a one-out triple in the eighth, and Sullivan followed with her third home run of the season.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•
Anna Christ pitched 5 1/3 hitless, scoreless relief innings to notch her second win of the season. Christ struck out five and walked only two.
•Johnson and Gallagher had a single apiece.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•George Mason took a 1-0 lead in the second.
•Saint Louis went in front 2-1 in the third. A walk to Marietta and singles by Jany and Sullivan loaded the bases for Mallo, who registered her school-record-breaking RBI with a single. Kaniecki's groundout brought home the second run.
•George Mason answered with a run in the fourth to make it a 2-2 game.
•The Billikens tallied what proved to be the winning run in the sixth. Gallagher was hit by a pitch and went to second on Rhine's single. With two outs, Marietta's double scored pinch runner
Addie Duttlinger.

GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Hochman, who won her sixth consecutive decision, upped her record to 13-6 and lowered her ERA to 2.22. She struck out four. Hochman is now 7-3 with a 1.58 ERA in conference play.
•Jany added a double and Sullivan tacked on a single for two-hit games.
•Kaniecki recorded a single.
