ST. LOUIS — Saint Louis fell to Southern Indiana, 12-5, on Tuesday evening at the Billiken Sports Center.
The Screaming Eagles struck first with a run in the top of the first to take an early 1-0 lead.
Brenden Stressler tied the game for the Billikens in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single.
Southern Indiana responded with four unanswered runs to go ahead 5-1.
Saint Louis rallied in the sixth inning. Hank Gomric delivered a two-run double, Hayden Moore scored on a throwing error, and Austin Nueweg added an RBI double to tie the game at 5-5.
USI regained control with runs in each of the next three innings to secure the win and set the final score at 12-5.
The Billikens return to action this weekend with a three-game Atlantic 10 series at Richmond. Game one is set for Friday, April 25, with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.
