Billikens Complete Series Sweep of GW on Mallo's Record-Tying Homer, Hochman's Gem

GAME RESULT
Saint Louis 3, George Washington 0
Monday, April 7, 2025
St. Louis, Mo. (Billiken Sports Center)

THE BASICS
Taylor Hochman tossed a three-hit shutout and Abby Mallo delivered a seventh-inning walk-off home run Monday afternoon to give Saint Louis a 3-0 win over George Washington and a sweep of a three-game Atlantic 10 Conference series.

SLU improved to 18-19 overall and 7-5 in conference play. The Billikens have won five straight and seven of their last nine A-10 games.

Mallo's three-run blast was her 37th career home run, tying Sadie Wise (2018-22) for the Saint Louis record. The junior has a career-high and league-leading 14 homers this year, just two shy of Wise's single-season mark of 16 set in 2018. Additionally, Mallo leads the A-10 with 49 RBIs, 10 of which came in the GW series on three homers.

Hochman collected her second shutout of the series, her career-high fourth shutout of the season and her seventh career shutout as the Bills blanked the Revolutionaries for a third straight game.

Saint Louis has posted three consecutive shutouts for the first time since 2007 (Dayton two games, Eastern Illinois one game). It's the first time SLU has shut out an A-10 opponent in each game of a three-game series; the last time the Billikens shut out a league opponent in all three games occurred in 2002 (Charlotte in Conference USA).
