ST. LOUIS — Saint Louis University defeated George Washington 6-4 on Saturday on Senior Day, clinching the No. 3 seed for the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
The Billikens struck first with an RBI single from
Austin Neuweg in the fourth inning to take a 1-0 lead.
George Washington responded with two runs in the top of the fifth to go ahead 2-1. In the bottom half,
Max McGwire hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 2.
The Revolutionaries added two more runs in the sixth to take a 4-2 lead.
McGwire tied the game again in the seventh with a two-run homer. SLU scored two more in the eighth on a solo shot by
Kamaehu Sanchez and an RBI single by
Chase Beattie, bringing the game to its final score.
Stephen Hernandez earned the win for the Billikens, improving to 3-0. He threw 2 2/3 innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.
Charlie Weber recorded his fourth save with a scoreless ninth.
Saint Louis will head to Tysons, Virginia, for the A-10 Tournament and is set to face the No. 6 seed on Tuesday.
