No. 24 Billikens Shoot Past Bonnies; Tie Best Start in School History

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – No. 24 Saint Louis matched the school record with 19 3-pointers in a 97-62 rout of St. Bonaventure Friday night in Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball action at the Reilly Center.

The Billikens' win – their 13th straight – tied the school record for the best start in program history through 20 games, as SLU improves to 19-1 overall and 7-0 in A-10 play. St. Bonaventure falls to 12-8 overall and 1-6 in league play.

Ishan Sharma finished 9-of-12 from 3-point range, matching the school record for 3s in a game set by Gibson Jimerson last year. Sharma ended up with a career-high 29 points, the most points scored by a Billiken this year.

Trey Green (15 points) and Amari McCottry (12 points) also finished in double figures for the Bills.

Saint Louis was 19-of-33 from 3-point range (.536). The 19 treys matched the school record set last year against Loyola Chicago at Chaifetz Arena.

The 35-point win was the largest for the Billikens in an A-10 game.

It was all Billikens from the opening jump. They started the game on a 7-0 run and never looked back. SLU broke the game open with a 13-0 rally midway through the first as the Billikens led by as many as 33 points in the opening half.

SLU led 58-26 at halftime. It was the most points ever scored by the Billikens in a half in an A-10 game. Saint Louis shot 64.7 percent (22-34) from the field and 72.2 percent (13-18) in the opening stanza.

The Billiken lead swelled to as many as 38 points in an equally efficient second half, and SLU cruised to the win.

The Billikens are back in action on Tuesday night when they host George Washington at Chaifetz Arena in a 7 p.m. tip on FanDuel Sports Network Extra and ESPN+.
