WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Saint Louis women's basketball team fell in a 64-62 heartbreaker at George Washington on Wednesday night at Charles E. Smith Center.
Both teams traded baskets back and forth in the opening five minutes. The Revolutionaries went on 6-0 run to cut the back and forth and lead 15-9. They carried that lead to 17-12 after the first 10 minutes. Saint Louis had an assist on every made shot in the quarter.
The Billikens opened the quarter on a 6-0 run to take an 18-17 lead. SLU shot over 54 percent from the field in the first half and led 33-30.
SLU used two 5-0 runs to keep its lead. GW went on a 5-0 run to cut the Bills lead to 49-47.
George Washington took its first lead since the second quarter at 54-53. Saint Louis answered with an 8-0 run to go up 61-54. The Revs used a 7-0 run to tie the game at 61 with 48 seconds left. Then continued to take a 64-62 lead, Saint Louis stole an inbound pass with three seconds left and a chance to tie the game, but couldn't convert.

- The Billikens had 11 assists in the first half and finished with 19 which is their most in an A-10 game this season
- Three Bills scored in double figures
- Alyssa Koerkenmeier led all scorers with 19 points, she added eight rebounds, four rebounds and three blocks.
- Saint Louis finished the game shooting 49 percent, its best in a conference game this season.
