THE BASICS
•Abby Ulsas tied an NCAA Division I single-game record with three triples, five players had multiple RBIs, and Saint Louis routed Mississippi Valley State 18-0 Thursday night on day one of UT Martin's Skyhawk Invitational.
•UT Martin defeated the Billikens 5-3 in the tournament opener.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Anna Christ's first home run of the season, a three-run blast, put SLU on top 3-0 in the top of the first inning.
•UT Martin scored its first run in the second inning, tied the game with two runs in the fourth and plated two more in the fifth.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Karsen Jany (double, two singles) and Christ (two singles in addition to her home run) had three hits apiece.
•Ulsas and Riley Nelson doubled.
•Kate Proffitt and Sophia Boente each had a single.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Jany's RBI groundout in the top of the first inning gave the Bills the only run they would need.
•A four-run second featured sacrifice flies by Scout Gallagher and Anna Rolla, an RBI triple by Ulsas and Jany's RBI single.
•Saint Louis doubled its lead to 10-0 in the fourth. Ulsas drove in the first run with her third triple of the game, followed by Jany's RBI double. Ava Wombles collected an RBI with a bunt single, and Proffitt finished the scoring with a two-run homer, her first long ball as a Billiken.
•The Billikens exploded for eight runs in the fifth. Abby Mallo's single brought home the first two runs, Wombles produced an RBI single, and pinch hitter Ava Harris notched her first collegiate RBI while reaching on an error that allowed a second runner to score. Later, Allie Branstetter swatted her first collegiate round-tripper, a three-run shot.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Proffitt and Branstetter added a double and a single, respectively, for two-hit games.
•Mallo and Addie Duttlinger had a single apiece.
•Riley Nelson went the distance in the circle, striking out four and allowing just four hits and a walk in recording her first collegiate victory and shutout.

•The Billikens play twice more Friday, facing Valparaiso at noon and Mississippi Valley State at 5:30 p.m.
