THE BASICS
•Abby Mallo set a Saint Louis record for career RBIs, Anna Christ tossed a complete game, and the Billikens won twice Friday on day two of UT Martin's Skyhawk Invitational.
•SLU edged Valparaiso 3-2 in its first game of the day before run-ruling Mississippi Valley State 14-0 Friday evening.
•Mallo has 174 RBIs as a Billiken, breaking the mark of 173 set by Allie Macfarlane (2015-18) and tied by Sadie Wise (2018-22). She registered the record-breaker with a first-inning two-run home run vs. Valparaiso.
•The Billikens collected a school-record eight doubles in the Mississippi Valley State game.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•SLU scored twice in the bottom of the first inning on Mallo's third home run of the season.
•Ulsas made it 3-0 with a two-out RBI double in the second.
•Valparaiso scored its first run in the fourth.
•The Beacons threatened in the sixth, but Christ worked out of a two-on, two-out jam with no damage.
•In the seventh, Valpo narrowed the gap to a single run and had the tying run aboard with nobody out, but Christ retired the next three batters to preserve the victory.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Christ tossed a five-hitter to improve to 2-1. She also had a single at the plate.
•Mallo added a double for a two-hit game.
•Addie Duttlinger chipped in a single.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis took command with a 10-run second inning. Sophia Boente bookended the rally with a sacrifice fly and an RBI double; Allie Branstetter, Karsen Jany and Riley Nelson clubbed two-run doubles; and Moira Falli doubled in a run for her first RBI as a Billiken.
•Ulsas and Mallo continued the Bills' two-bagger onslaught with RBI doubles in the third, and Jordan Boyd posted her first collegiate RBI on a bunt single.
•Ulsas concluded the scoring in the fourth with another RBI double.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Branstetter added a triple for a two-hit game.
•Ava Harris had a pinch-hit single.
•Isabel Royle improved to 2-2 in the circle and combined with Scout Gallagher for the shutout. Royle fanned three, did not walk a batter and gave three hits in three innings, while Gallagher tossed two innings of one-hit ball with three strikeouts and no walks.

•The Billikens conclude play at the Skyhawk Invitational with a 9 a.m. Saturday game vs. Valparaiso.
