EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Saint Louis Baseball fell 17-7 at SIUE on Tuesday afternoon in a seven-inning contest.
The Billikens erupted for seven runs in the top of the first inning to take an early lead. Austin Neuweg singled to shallow left field to drive in two runs, Matt Deutsch followed with an RBI walk and Drew Kleinheider added another bases-loaded walk. Krew Bond capped the frame with a three-run double to left center to give SLU a 7-0 advantage.
SIUE responded with two runs in the bottom of the first before scoring six in the third to take control of the game. The Cougars added one run in the fourth, one in the fifth, two in the sixth and four in the seventh to secure the run-rule victory.
