ST. LOUIS — Four Billikens scored in double figures but could not overcome Duquesne's fast start, falling 82-64 in Saint Louis' final home game of the season.
Duquesne used a 14-0 run to take early control at 16-4. Saint Louis trailed 25-15 after the opening 10 minutes.
Alyssa Koerkenmeier recorded two blocks in the first quarter.
The Billikens held the Dukes scoreless for nearly four minutes and trimmed the deficit to 25-21. Duquesne answered with a run to push the lead to 32-21 before an
Isabel Tillett 3-pointer stopped the momentum. A
Jahda Denis steal led to a
Zya Nugent basket that cut the lead to 39-36. Saint Louis outscored Duquesne 23-19 in the quarter but trailed 44-38 at halftime.
Duquesne built a 13-point lead twice in the period and outscored the Billikens 19-12 to extend its advantage.
Saint Louis entered the final 10 minutes trailing 63-50. Duquesne maintained control down the stretch to secure the 82-64 victory.
