ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis women's basketball fell 92-44 to Richmond on Wednesday evening at Chaifetz Arena.
The Billikens are now 11-14 overall and 5-7 in Atlantic 10 play, while the Richmond Spiders improve to 19-5 overall and 9-1 in conference action.
Mia Bergstrom led the team with 14 points, setting a new career high in conference play.
The Spiders got out to an early lead, entering the first media timeout up 14-5. Offensive rebounds two possessions in a row helped the Billikens go on a 4-0 run. Richmond led 20-11 after the 10 minutes.
The Billikens came out fighting in the second quarter, forcing a shot clock violation in the first possession. The Spiders responded with aggressive offense, forcing the Billikens into halftime trailing 41-17.
Richmond opened the second half with an 8-2 run and went on another 14-0 run to take a 66-23 lead.
The Billikens did their best to fight through to the end but ultimately fell 92-44.
