Box Score KINGSTON, R.I. – Saint Louis fell in a 74-43 afternoon showdown to Rhode Island at the Ryan Center.
The Billikens losing streak extends to five as they dip to 11-15 overall and 5-8 in Atlantic 10 play while the Rams improve to 21-2 and stay perfect at 12-0 in conference play.
The Bills started with an early 10-2 lead with eight coming from
Jahda Denis. At the first media time out the Rams were 0-7 from the field. Rhode Island went on a 6-0 run to close the gap at 10-8. Saint Louis had just one turnover in the quarter.
A 7-0 run spanning from the first quarter gave Rhode Island its first lead of the game at 15-13. The Billikens were held scoreless for over five minutes and fell behind 25-16 in that time.
The Rams extended their lead to 43-28 late in the third.
Rhode Island went on a 9-0 run to open the fourth quarter, then another to take a 66-37 lead. The Rams exploded for 31 points in the fourth quarter and Saint Louis fell 74-43.
