THE BASICS
Saint Louis dropped a pair of games Friday on day two of the La Jolla Invitational, falling 9-0 to Montana and 11-3 to UC San Diego.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Montana scored the only runs it would need in the third, taking a 2-0 lead.
•The Grizzlies added four runs in the fourth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Anna Christ was 2-for-3.
•Abby Ulsas, Anna Rolla and Bella Stephens collected a single apiece.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Billikens struck first in the opening frame on Abby Mallo's solo home run.
•UCSD took a 3-1 lead in the second.
•SLU answered right away in the third, tying the game 3-3 on Christ's two-run sacrifice fly.
•UCSD went in front for good with a run in the fourth before adding four in the fifth and three in the sixth.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Rolla and Karsen Jany had a single apiece.
