THE BASICS
•Saint Louis evened its Atlantic 10 Conference record at 3-3 with a 2-1, 5-0 doubleheader sweep of Saint Joseph's Saturday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
•The Billikens won the series two games to one.
•In the opener,
Anna Christ surrendered 10 hits but recorded outs when it counted as Saint Joseph's stranded 12 base runners.
Abby Mallo's solo home run (team-high fifth of the season) and
Ava Wombles' sacrifice fly provided just enough offense.
•Game two belonged to
Riley Nelson and
Karsen Jany. Nelson tossed a one-hitter and collected her first collegiate seven-inning shutout, while Jany drove in four of the Bills' five runs, including a three-run home run (second of the season).

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning.
•Saint Louis answered with two runs in its half of the sixth. Mallo lined a one-out shot over the left-field wall to pull the Billikens even.
Bella Stephens struck out but reached on a wild pitch, and Christ followed with a single that advanced Stephens to third. Wombles then delivered the sacrifice fly that proved to be the game-winner, and Christ retired the side in order in the seventh.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•SLU went on top 1-0 in the second. Wombles led off with a single, moved to second on Proffitt's sacrifice and scored on Jany's two-out single.
•The Billikens doubled the lead in the third. Mallo's leadoff walk was followed by Stephens' infield single. Pinch runner
Moira Falli advanced to third on a foul-out to right field and scored on Proffitt's two-out infield single.
•Saint Louis added insurance in the sixth. Walks to
Sophia Boente and
Scout Gallagher set the stage for Jany's three-run blast to left field.

•Jany added a second single for a three-hit game.
•Nelson struck out four.
•Stephens registered two hits.
