Billikens Top Bonnies 6-3 to Clinch Series

ERIE, Pa. – Saint Louis used an early offensive surge and strong pitching to secure a 6-3 victory over St. Bonaventure on Saturday afternoon at Mercyhurst Field.

With the win, the Billikens improve to 11-11 overall and 4-1 in Atlantic 10 play.

Saint Louis wasted no time getting on the board, plating one run in the first before breaking through with a three-run second inning to take control early. The Billikens added two more in the fourth to extend the lead to 6-0.

Riley Iffrig paced the offense with a 3-for-5 performance, driving in three runs, including a key extra-base hit with runners in scoring position. Ian Blazier added two hits and scored a run at the top of the lineup, while Matthew Arnold crossed the plate twice and drove in a run.

On the mound, Ty Holman delivered a strong start, tossing 6.2 innings while striking out seven. He allowed three runs on six hits and kept the Bonnies off the board through the first four innings. After surrendering a three-run fifth, Holman settled back in and limited further damage.

The bullpen held firm down the stretch. Liam McKinney worked 2.0 innings, striking out three, and Loren Georger recorded the final out to earn the save.

St. Bonaventure threatened with nine hits, but the Billikens pitching staff limited timely damage, stranding multiple runners and holding the Bonnies scoreless over the final four innings.
