Game 2 – Rhode Island 6, Saint Louis 4 (8 innings)
Saturday, March 28, 2026
St. Louis, Mo. (Billiken Sports Center)

THE BASICS
•Anna Christ tossed her second consecutive shutout, a three-hitter, to lead Saint Louis to a 4-0 victory over Rhode Island in game one of an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
•Rhode Island won the nightcap 6-4 in eight innings.

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis scored all of its runs in the fourth inning. Bella Stephens' single and a walk to Christ were followed by Kate Proffitt's RBI single. Ava Wombles delivered an RBI single to put runners at first and third; she stole second, and Proffitt scored on a throwing error by the catcher. Anna Rolla capped the scoring with an RBI single.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Christ, who evened her record at 5-5, struck out five and walked only two.
•Abby Ulsas had a single.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Rhode Island took a 2-0 lead in the third inning.
•SLU pulled even in the fourth. Ulsas singled and Abby Mallo walked to start the inning, and runners were at first and third following a force out at second. After Christ walked to load the bases, Proffitt drove in the first run with a fielder's choice, and Wombles made it 2-2 with an RBI single.
•The Billikens took a 3-2 lead in the fifth. Karsen Jany drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second on Ulsas' sacrifice and scored on Mallo's single.
•Rhode Island answered with the game-tying run in the sixth, but starting pitcher Riley Nelson stranded two other Rams runners.
•Reliever Isabel Royle pitched around URI's seventh-inning leadoff double, and the game went to extra innings after Saint Louis failed to score in the bottom half.
•The Rams plated three runs in the eighth.
•The Bills drew a run closer in their half of the eighth. Stephens, who coaxed a leadoff walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch, scored when the Rhode Island left fielder bobbled the ball on Christ's single. Wombles was hit by a pitch with one out to bring the potential winning run to the plate, but the rally ended there.

GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Nelson allowed two earned runs, six hits and two walks in six innings.
•Ulsas added a single for a two-hit game.
•Stephens, Rolla and Sophia Boente each had a single.

UP NEXT
•Saint Louis and Rhode Island conclude the series Sunday with a single game that begins at noon.
