ST. LOUIS – A sixth-inning home run from
Chase Beattie lifted Saint Louis baseball to a 2-1 victory over Bradley in the series opener Friday evening at the Billiken Sports Center.
Bradley struck first with an RBI single in the third inning to take a 1-0 lead.
Saint Louis responded in the fourth when
Joey Canzoni laid down a sacrifice bunt that scored Beattie to tie the game at 1-1.
Beattie then provided the deciding run in the sixth, blasting his fifth home run of the season to give the Billikens a 2-1 advantage. The score held the rest of the way.
