ARLINGTON, Va. – Ben Cherico delivered a career perfourmance on the mound to help lead the Billikens to a 3-0 win over George Washington on Friday afternoon at Barcroft Park.
Saint Louis broke through in the fifth inning to take a 2-0 lead.
Austin Neuweg doubled, and
Ahmaad Duff followed with a single to move him to third.
Drew Kleinheider drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly, and
Riley Iffrig added an RBI single later in the inning to score Duff.
Joey Canzoni extended the lead in the sixth with a solo home run to account for the final margin.
Cherico tossed his first career complete game, matching a career high with 10 strikeouts while allowing just two hits.
It marked the first complete-game shutout by a Billiken since 2021.
