ARLINGTON, Va. – Saint Louis earned a 3-2 win over George Washington to claim the series Sunday afternoon at Barcroft Park.
The Billikens opened the scoring in the third inning when
Ian Blazier blasted his second home run of the year to give SLU a 1-0 lead.
Saint Louis extended its advantage in the fourth.
Chase Beattie led off with a double, followed by an RBI double from
Hank Gomric.
Matthew Arnold added an RBI single to score Gomric and push the Billikens' lead to 3-0.
George Washington responded in the sixth, scoring two runs to cut the deficit to 3-2.
Both teams threatened late, but Saint Louis held on to secure the 3-2 victory and the series win.
