EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Billikens fell 15-5 in a midweek matchup to SIUE on Wednesday afternoon at Simmons Baseball Complex.
 
Saint Louis got off to a hot start in the first inning, sending all nine batters to the plate. Joey Canzoni and Matt Deutsch each drew bases loaded walks and Austin Neuweg drove in two more with a ground rule doubled to lead 4-0.
 
The Cougars come to life in the third, scoring six runs to take a 6-4 lead.
 
Saint Louis drew within one at 6-5 after a sacrifice fly from Riley Iffrig in the fourth.
 
SIUE then scored three runs in the fourth, five in the fifth and one in the sixth to take a 15-5 lead. The Billikens were unable to plate another run to fend off the run rule.
