THE BASICS
•Abby Mallo had an RBI double and Anna Christ pitched 3 1/3 strong relief innings, but Eastern Illinois captured a 6-1 non-conference victory over Saint Louis Thursday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
•Eastern Illinois' first-inning run was matched by SLU in the bottom of the inning. Abby Ulsas and Karsen Jany drew walks to begin the frame, and Mallo followed with her RBI two-bagger.
•Eastern Illinois added two runs in the third, two in the fourth and one in the seventh.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Christ allowed just one run, three hits and one walk over the final 3 1/3 innings.
•Jany and Kate Proffitt had a single apiece.
