Billikens Outlast Lindenwood, 7-6

GAME RESULT
Saint Louis 7, Lindenwood 6
Wednesday, April 22, 2026
St. Louis, Mo. (Billiken Sports Center)

THE BASICS
•Saint Louis scored six runs in the sixth inning, then held off a furious seventh-inning Lindenwood rally to claim a 7-6 victory Wednesday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
•Kate Proffitt went 3-for-4 to lead the Billiken offense, which scored at least seven runs for a third consecutive game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•Each team scored a run in the third inning. SLU's half of the inning began with walks to Abby Ulsas and Karsen Jany, both of whom advanced on a passed ball prior to Anna Christ's sacrifice fly.
•Lindenwood took a 2-1 lead in the fifth.
•Proffitt and Ava Wombles started the Bills' sixth-inning outburst with singles, and both moved up on a passed ball. Sophia Boente followed with a ground ball to third base, and the throw home failed to retire Proffitt. Wombles scored to put Saint Louis in front when Anna Rolla reached on an error, and Ulsas' RBI single plated Boente. Another error allowed Rolla to score, and two more runners crossed on a third error.
•Lindenwood tallied four runs in the seventh and had the tying and go-ahead runs aboard, but reliever Riley Nelson recorded the final out to preserve the win.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•SLU starter Isabel Royle enjoyed a strong outing, allowing just one run, one hit and two walks in four innings.
•Jany and Rolla had a single apiece.
•Nelson registered the first save of her Billiken career.

UP NEXT
•The Billikens conclude Atlantic 10 Conference play with a three-game series at St. Bonaventure April 25-26. Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game start at 11 a.m. Central.
