ST. LOUIS -
Saint Louis University men's tennis dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to Southwest Missouri State in Springfield on Saturday. Freshmen Lance Vodicka, Thomas Kwong and Taylor Curran posted singles victories to put the teams in a 3-3 tie heading into doubles, but the Billikens (0-3) dropped all three pairings to take the loss.
Vodicka got things rolling for the Bills, dispatching Leonard Perry in straight sets. Kwong and Curran needed three sets to post their victories. The Billikens were overmatched in the remaining three singles matches as Michael Hoosien, Sanjeev Paramanathan and Corey Stewart all fell in straight sets.
In doubles, Saint Louis put up fights in the Nos. 1 and 3 pairings, but could not bring home the victories for the fourth and decisive point of the match.
