Saint Louis Field Hockey Team Loses To Dartmouth

Sept. 10, 2001

St. Louis, Mo. - The Billikens were out hustled by the Ivy League's Big Green in today's match.

Dartmouth out shot Saint Louis 17-5 and received 14 penalty corners to SLU's two.

In the sixth minute of the game, Lauren Welsh, assisted by Rebekka Stucker, netted the first and only goal of the half. During second half action, Lisa Thomas put one between the pipes. With under three minutes remaining on the clock, Welsh again scored from an assist by Kate Alexander.

The Billiken defense was tough on the field, but the offensive line wasn't able to break through Dartmouth's back line. With the loss today, the Billikens fall to 1-4 while Dartmouth (3-0) remains undefeated this season.

The Billikens will host Pacific on Fri., Sept. 14, at 4 p.m. at the A-B Center in Fenton, Mo.
