Jessica Barton converted a penalty stroke at 63:26 to lift Davidson (8-13) to a 3-2 comeback victory over Saint Louis (2-18) in a consolation game of the NorPac Championships and the season finale for both teams at the Varsity Field Hockey Turf on Friday. The Wildcats trailed 2-0 early in the contest after unassisted Saint Louis goals by Lindsay Lombardo and Carin Boone at 9:23 and 11:25. Davidson would tie the contest at 2-2 later in the first half when Alex Rogers and Emily Davis scored unassisted goals at 11:44 and 22:46.
The scored remained tied 2-2 until Barton's game-winning penalty stroke.
Barton and Rogers finished their respective collegiate careers with 42 and 33 points for the Wildcats.
Davidson outshot the Billikens, 13-5, and held a 7-5 advantage in penalty corners.
Sophomore Sarah Nolan made one save in the game to give her 160 saves for the season. Nolan finished the season ranked third on Davidson's single-season saves list and second in single-season minutes with 1498:53. Julie Moeckel was credited with three saves for Saint Louis.
