Men's Basketball Falls To Butler, 68-46

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Darnell Archey scored 16 points, including 4-of-7 3-pointers, to help Butler gain its eighth consecutive victory as the Bulldogs beat Saint Louis 68-46 on Saturday.

Archey contributed eight points in a 90-second span. His teammates also nailed six 3-pointers in a 30-8 run to start the game.

Marque Perry, who led the Billikens (4-4) with 23 points and seven rebounds, scored four consecutive points to close the deficit to 30-12 at halftime.

Saint Louis went on a 10-0 run one-quarter of the way through the second half to close the deficit to 51-34. Butler did it from the free throw line the rest of the way, hitting 7-of-9 free throws. The Bulldogs eventually pumped the lead up to 27 with five minutes remaining and the score at 63-38.

The Bulldogs (8-0) made eight more free throws, had 10 more assists and shot 61 percent from the floor in the second half. Joel Cornette scored 11 points, and Mike Monserez added 13 for Butler.
