Saint Louis Hosts NorPac Foe Pacific in Monday Matinee

St. Louis, Mo. - Saint Louis hosted the University of Pacific in a conference match this afternnon at the Anheuser-Busch Center after winning its first game of the year 3-2 over Davidson on Saturday.

The Billikens came out flat and were shutout 5-0 by the Tigers today. The aggressiveness and control the Billikens displayed on Saturday was not to be seen this afternoon.

Pacific got on the board 12 minutes into the game with a goal by Amy Hollenbach. The Tigers had full reign of the field as Heather Kottmeier scored the second goal with 6:23 left in the half. Alexandra Fiorina closed out the first half with her own goal with just over two minutes to go.

Julie Moeckel made five saves on the Tigers fifteen shots. Pacific was awarded six penalty corners.

Tiger keeper Gina Sadler has an easy time as the Bills managed just one shot during the match.

Second half action was kicked off by Kottmeier taking a penalty shot for the Tigers with the clock reading 23:59 and putting the ball in the back of the net. Vianney Campos scored the final goal with 14:46 left to go.

Both teams used their entire benches during the game. The Bills, looking for help and the Tigers resting their starters.

Sophomore keeper Meredith Boyle entered the game for Saint Louis with 12 minutes remaining in the game and made two key saves in the losing effort.

Saint Louis will host NorPac foe Radford for two matches on Sat., Oct. 18, at 2 p.m., then again on Tue., Oct. 21, in a 1 p.m. game.

Saint Louis falls to 1-11 with Pacific improving to 6-6.
