Clemson's Branan Transfers to Billikens

March 29, 2004

St. Louis - Saint Louis University head men's soccer coach Dan Donigan today announced that Brett Branan (Lakeville, Minn. / St. Paul Academy and Summit School) has transferred to the Billikens from Clemson. The defender will be a senior with one year of eligibility in the 2004 season.

"With the departure of three senior defenders from last year's team, Brett will add some leadership and maturity both on and off the field," Donigan said. "He's big, strong in the air and technically sound with the ball at his feet."

The 6-foot-3, 178-pound Branan appeared in all but one of the Tigers' 20 games during the 2003 season and started 11. He had a goal and an assist for three points, while helping the Tigers to a 9-7-4 overall mark and a 2-4-0 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference. In his three-year Clemson career, Branan totaled 15 points (5G, 5A) in 50 games. His sophomore season was his most productive with nine points (4G, 1A).

At St. Paul Academy and Summit School in Minnesota, he posted 79 points (31G, 17A) during his four-year high school career. After his senior season, Branan was named All-Midwest Region, All-State, All-Metro, All-Conference and the Tri Metro Player of the Year. He also was a state Mr. Soccer finalist.
