Men's Basketball Saint Louis Athletics

Dayton 72, Saint Louis 70 (OT)

Recap |  Final Stats

Junior center Ian Vouyoukas

"After I scored my 17th point, they changed defenses and started collapsing the lane with two big men. It was tough to get me the ball, and when I did get it I really didn't have a good look so I was trying to kick it back out."

Senior guard Anthony Drejaj

"I didn't feel as if we came out strong. Once the senior day stuff is over, you have to put that behind you and be ready to go once the ball goes up, and I don't think we did that. We got back into the game because our defensive intensity picked up. At the end of regulation, I caught the ball and noticed the clock going down and a defender running toward me, so I tried to put as much arc on it as possible. It thought it was a good look and it felt good, it just didn't go in."

Saint Louis head coach Brad Soderberg

"I really do not have an answer right now. Coming off a big win at Charlotte, I told them to not take this game lightly. What I do know is that our defense has been unable to stop the opposition in two consecutive games, and that is not something we want to happen as the season winds down. We are not going to put this game behind us. I'm going to watch the tape to really see what happened."

Dayton head coach Brian Gregory

"Give Brad credit. If we didn't have the number six team in the nation in our conference, he is the coach of the year in the A-10. I think we are going to have a great rivalry as the years go on because our teams are similar in the fact we are both young. Brad and I go way back, and when he was an assistant and I was an assistant, every game we've played has been like this. Overall, I'm pleased for our team. It's been a long time coming for us to win one on the road."
