Bills' Winning Streak Reaches Four

ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis women's tennis extended its winning streak to four Friday with a 7-0 victory over Western Illinois at Sunset Tennis Center.

The Billikens (4-2) took a 1-0 lead by winning two of three doubles matches. Hailee Elmore and Caitlin McKenna downed Amy Unzicker and Kate Kennedy 8-5 at No. 3. Casey Miller and Sarah Septien were edged 9-7 by Marcela Brandao and Yana Meinert at No. 1

SLU swept the singles contests, with five straight-set victories and one retirement. The closest match was at No. 1, where Hailee Elmore got past Brandao 6-4, 6-4. Miller beat Baumer 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, while Septien led Furlong 6-1, 1-0 at No. 3 when Furlong was forced to retire.

Elsewhere, Mia Elmore was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Unzicker at No. 4, McKenna took care of Meinert 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5, and Tomalak defeated Kennedy 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6.

Saint Louis is back in action Sunday, Feb. 21, at Bradley in Peoria, Ill.
