ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis women's tennis registered its seventh shutout of the season and its fourth win in five matches Friday, defeating Southern Illinois Edwardsville 7-0 at Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

The Billikens (9-5) captured a hard-fought double point to begin the contest. Casey Miller and Caitlin McKenna edged Ali Wulfers and Amanda Niebur 8-6 at No. 3. Hailee Elmore and Kasia Tomalak were 8-3 winners over Laura Horning and Kelsey Laird at No. 2.

SLU lost only 12 games in singles play. Hailee Elmore defeated Connors 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1; Miller blanked Boeckman 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2; Nalepa downed Horning 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3; Mia Elmore was a 6-4, 6-1 victor over Laird at No. 4; Tomalak beat Wulfers 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5; and McKenna topped Niebur 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.

"The team was businesslike and looked very solid today," head coach Jonathan Zych said. "Our players are excited about playing UMKC on Tuesday, and they're definitely looking forward to the match at Xavier on Friday."
