ST. LOUIS - The Saint Louis women's tennis team made history Tuesday afternoon with a 7-0 triumph over UMKC at Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

The win gave the Billikens (10-5) a double-digit victory total for a fifth consecutive season, the first time that has occurred in the 33-year history of the program. SLU, which has won three straight and five of its last six matches, registered its eighth shutout of the year.

No. 1 singles player Hailee Elmore improved to 15-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Eva Dalvai. Elsewhere, Casey Miller defeated Laura Bouet 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2; Caitlin McKenna eased past Holly Davis 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6.

UMKC (6-9) picked up its only win at No. 1 doubles when Dalvai and Horner beat Miller and Nalepa 8-4. The Bills claimed the doubles point, however, as Hailee Elmore and Tomalak topped Bouet and Lisenby at No. 2, and Mia Elmore and McKenna got past Yakominich and Davis at No. 3, both by an 8-5 score.

"We played with a lot of confidence, and that translated into a dominant performance," head coach Jonathan Zych said. "Our players love playing outside, and they stepped up and took care of business today. We're eager to play two Atlantic 10 Conference opponents this weekend."

The Billikens play at Xavier Friday and at Dayton Saturday before stepping back out of conference for a Sunday match at Illinois State.
