Women's Tennis Splits in Colorado

Saint Louis women's tennis split two matches on its spring-break trip to Colorado, dropping a 5-2 decision to Colorado State March 6 and rebounding to defeat Colorado College 7-0 March 7.

The Colorado State match featured several close contests. The Rams (4-6) won the doubles point but squeaked by at Nos. 2 and 3. Tori Arneson and Melissa Holzinger edged Sarah Septien and Kasia Tomalak 8-6 at No. 3.

Hailee Elmore breezed past Laura Neal 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Mia Elmore was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Mulhern at No. 5. But Colorado State captured a pair of three-set victories, with Caitlin Fluegge defeating Septien 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 and Wojakowska topping Nalepa 7-6 (9-7), 3-6, 6-3 at No. 4.

Saint Louis (6-4) was an easy winner against Colorado College (1-2). The Billikens surrendered just eight games in singles action and four games in doubles play.

SLU hosts Ball State Thursday, March 11, at noon.
