Box Score

AMHERST, Mass. - Saint Louis field hockey got second half goals from Lexie Lindblad and Alanah Busby, but it wasn't enough as the Billikens fell 6-2 at Massachusetts Friday in an Atlantic 10 Conference matchup at Garber Field.

UMass (7-8) scored twice early in the match to go up 2-0 seven minutes in, and added another goal late in the first half to make it 3-0 Minutewomen at halftime.

After UMass tacked on another goal, the Billikens got on the board when Lindblad scored at the 46:18 mark. Corrine Murphy assisted on the scoring play, which came off a penalty corner. It was Lindblad's team-high-tying fourth goal of the season.

The Minutewomen scored less than a minute later to make it 5-1 UMass, but SLU answered on a goal by Busby at the 51:24 mark. It was her first goal of the season. However, the Minutewomen added a penalty stroke goal late in the match and hung on for the 6-2 win.

SLU returns home to face A-10 foe Richmond Sunday at Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
