Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Saint Louis field hockey got
goals from Lisa Smith and Lexie Lindblad, but Missouri State's
Holly Scherer scored four times to lead the Bears to a 5-2 victory at MSU's
Hammond Field Wednesday.
The
Billikens (1-17) got on the board at the 25:12 mark when Smith scored her
fourth goal of the season, which ties her for second on the team. She scored on
a pass from Lindblad off a penalty corner, making it 2-1 Bears at the time.
That
remained the score until just before halftime when Missouri State scored to
take a 3-1 advantage into the break.
The
Bears (5-11) scored two more times before Lindblad scored an unassisted goal at
62:45, making it 5-2 MSU. It was Lindblad's team-leading sixth goal of the
year. For the season, she has 15 points (6G, 3A).
SLU
hosts La Salle at Soccer Park Friday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. Prior to the game,
there will be a Senior Day ceremony to honor Caitlin Brenner and Lexie
Lindblad.
