Billikens Head to Atlantic City as No. 2 Seed

ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis University is the No. 2 seed for the 2012 Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Championship and will face the winner of No. 7 La Salle/No. 10 Richmond Friday at 5:30 p.m. (CT) in the quarterfinals at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. La Salle and Richmond face each other in a first-round game Tuesday night in Philadelphia.

The Billikens rolled through the regular season with a 24-6 record, setting a school record for most regular-season wins. They were a clear No. 2 in the league with a 12-4 conference mark, finishing a game back of league regular-season champion Temple (24-6, 13-3 A-10).

Saint Louis is 3-6 all-time in A-10 tourney play. The Billikens' best showing came in 2006-07 when they reached the semifinals in Atlantic City before bowing out to George Washington. The No. 2 seeding is a best for the Billikens, topping the No. 4 seed captured by the 2009-10 squad.

If the Billikens win Friday night, they will play either No. 3 Xavier, No. 6 Dayton or No. 11 George Washington on Saturday, March 10, at 2:30 p.m. (CT). The A-10 Championship game is slated for Sunday, March 11, at Noon (CT).

Friday's quarterfinal game will be broadcast through CBS Sports Network's syndication package. The game will air in St. Louis on CCIN. Additional clearances, which will include channels available on satellite, will be announced early this week. Saturday's semifinal game will air on CBS Sports Network.
