Box Score ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Saint Louis field hockey's upset bid
against No. 23 Fairfield fell just short Friday afternoon as the Stags grinded
out a 1-0 victory at Michigan's Ocker Field.
Fairfield
(5-2) scored the game-winning goal at the 20:57 mark when Nikki McLucas found
the back of the cage.
SLU (0-8) pressured
late in the match in search of the equalizer. Five of the Billikens' six shots
came in the final 15 minutes of play, but they were unable to sneak one past
Fairfield goalie Maddy Sposito.
Lisa Smith led the Billikens with two shots on
goal. SLU goalie Megan Depew-Brady made
four saves.
Saint Louis
returns to action tomorrow when they face No. 16 Michigan. Game time is
scheduled for noon (St. Louis time).
