FENTON, Mo. - Miami (Ohio) scored on a penalty stroke and edged Saint Louis 1-0 Sunday in non-conference field hockey action at Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo.

The Billikens (1-11) and RedHawks (6-7) played a scoreless first half, as SLU freshman goalie Tori Westhead made six saves. But Miami was awarded a penalty stroke early in the second half, and Bea Dechant converted for the game's only score.

Westhead ended up with nine saves on the day. Lexie Lindblad led the Billikens with two shots.

Saint Louis opens Atlantic 10 Conference play next Sunday, Oct. 7, against Saint Joseph's. Game time at Soccer Park is scheduled for 1 p.m.
