ABOUT THE BILLIKENS – Sophomore forward Livi Logan-Wood has a team-high four goals and adds an assist for a team-leading nine points. Senior defender Jessie Jarrett checks in with three goals and an assist for seven points, and senior midfielder/forward Jenny Hummert has two goals and an assist for five points. Junior defender Maddy Bush (2G) and sophomore midfielder Jamei Borges (1G, 2A) have four points apiece, while senior midfielder Tori Belgeri and freshman forwards Cristina Rodriguez and Kirsten Clemens all have a goal and an assist for three points. Senior forward Maddie Gebauer owns two assists, and freshman midfielder Tori Marshall has one helper. Sophomore goalkeeper Hanna Benben carries a 1.80 goals against average – 0.81 in conference play – and has one shutout.
LAST TIME OUT – Saint Louis fell behind early, but Livi Logan-Wood scored the equalizer midway through the first half and the Billikens went on to tie Massachusetts 1-1 Oct. 13 at Hermann Stadium. Jenny Hummert collected an assist, and Hanna Benben tallied three saves.
HEAD COACH KATIE SHIELDS – Katie Shields is in her first season as the Billikens' head coach after serving as a SLU assistant coach last year. Shields is joined on the sideline by four newcomers to the staff – assistant coaches Scott Gloden and Vince Gentile, volunteer assistant Anne Gloden and senior graduate manager Maggie Baumann.
SCOUTING DAYTON – The Flyers have posted a school-record six consecutive shutouts, outscoring their opponents 17-0 during that stretch. Sophomore midfielder Ashley Campbell leads the A-10 in goals (11) and points (24), while senior midfielder Juliana Libertin tops the league in assists (12) and adds four goals for 20 points, ranking third in the conference. Senior forward/midfielder Stephanie Emery is tied for third in goals (eight) and fourth in points (18) in the A-10. Sophomore midfielder Nicole Waters is tied for second in the league with eight assists. Freshman goalkeeper Elizabeth James, who has played all but 21 minutes, leads the A-10 in save percentage (.851) and is second in goals against average (0.79).
THE DAYTON SERIES – The Flyers hold a 6-2-1 series advantage and have won six in a row against the Billikens.
UP NEXT – The Billikens play their final home game of the season Sunday, Oct. 27, when Rhode Island comes to town for a 1 p.m. first whistle. Saint Louis seniors Tori Belgeri, Maddie Gebauer, Jenny Hummert, Jessie Jarrett and Kailey Pretzlaff will be honored prior to the game.
