BILLIKENS, DUKES SET FOR EARLY FRIDAY START – Saint Louis women's soccer (3-9-1, 2-1) welcomes Duquesne (5-4-1, 1-0) to Robert R. Hermann Stadium for an Atlantic 10 Conference clash Friday, Oct. 11. The match, which marks the halfway point of the Billikens' A-10 schedule, begins at 5 p.m. and is part of a doubleheader with the SLU men's team, which hosts Fordham at 7:30 p.m.
TICKET INFORMATION – Tickets for all women's soccer home games at Robert R. Hermann Stadium can be purchased at the gate, by phone at (314) 977-4SLU or online at www.slubillikens.com. Prices for single-game tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. Groups of 20 or more receive discounted tickets for $4 apiece. Students with a valid SLU ID card receive free admission.

BILLIKENS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER THIS SUNDAY – SLU's contest against Massachusetts Sunday, Oct. 13, has been designated as the “Kicks Against Breast Cancer” game. The Billikens will wear pink jerseys which will be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
ABOUT THE BILLIKENS – Senior defender Jessie Jarrett and sophomore forward Livi Logan-Wood have two goals and an assist each for a team-high five points. Senior midfielder/forward Jenny Hummert and junior defender Maddy Bush have tallied two goals apiece, while freshman forwards Cristina Rodriguez and Kirsten Clemens each have a goal and an assist. Senior midfielder Tori Belgeri has recorded a goal; sophomore midfielder Jamei Borges has two assists; and senior forward Maddie Gebauer and freshman midfielder Tori Marshall own one assist apiece.
LAST TIME OUT – The Billikens fell 1-0 in overtime at George Mason Sunday, Oct. 6. Lindsay Elking kept the Saint Louis hopes alive by making seven saves in goal.
HEAD COACH KATIE SHIELDS – Katie Shields is in her first season as the Billikens' head coach after serving as a SLU assistant coach last year. Shields is joined on the sideline by four newcomers to the staff – assistant coaches Scott Gloden and Vince Gentile, volunteer assistant Anne Gloden and senior graduate manager Maggie Baumann.
SCOUTING DUQUESNE – The Dukes are riding a four-game winning streak and a five-game unbeaten streak, including a 3-1 win over St. Bonaventure in their A-10 opener. Freshman forward A.J. Baroffio, freshman midfielder Maddie Layman and sophomore forward Amy Vinopal lead the attack with two goals and two assists apiece, and freshman forward Maggie Mayo is next with two goals and one assist. Junior goalkeeper Devon Tabata carries a 0.82 goals against average, an .824 save percentage and three shutouts.
THE DUQUESNE SERIES – The Billikens lead the series with the Dukes 3-2, but Duquesne has won the last two games. The most recent meeting resulted in a 2-1 Duquesne victory Oct. 14, 2011, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
