Box Score RICHMOND, Va. – Third-seeded Saint Louis and sixth-seeded Massachusetts battled to a 0-0 draw in an Atlantic 10 Conference Championship quarterfinal game Thursday afternoon at VCU's SportsBackers Stadium, and UMass advanced to the tournament semifinals by claiming a 5-3 victory in penalty kicks.
The Billikens, who tied for second place in the A-10 regular-season standings (5-2-1), finish with a 6-10-3 record. The Minutewomen (7-8-4) will take on La Salle, the No. 2 seed and defending champion, in Friday's semifinals.
Freshman forward Cristina Rodriguez led the Saint Louis attack with a game- and career-high four shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Hanna Benben made three saves.
