ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis women's soccer scored two goals in the first six minutes of Friday's exhibition game against Arkansas State and went on to defeat the Red Wolves 6-1 at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.
The Billikens, who open the regular season at home against Western Michigan Friday, Aug. 23, finished their exhibition slate with a 1-0-1 record.
Jamei Borges, assisted by Jenny Hummert, opened the scoring just 3:27 into the contest by tucking a shot inside the lower right corner. Just two minutes later, Hummert intercepted a pass by the Arkansas State goalkeeper and sent a low shot that got inside the left post.
Livi Logan-Wood made it 3-0 at the 21:18 mark, taking Kirsten Clemens' cross from the left side and finishing at the right post. Kailey Pretzlaff and Michelle Schwarz connected on SLU's fourth goal at 35:32, with Pretzlaff heading in Schwarz's perfectly flighted cross from the left side.
Clemens gave the Bills a 5-0 halftime lead, collecting a loose ball in front of the goal and banging home a shot from close range at 42:15.
