BIG TEN FOE NEXT ON SLU DOCKET – Saint Louis women's soccer (1-4-1) plays the first of two consecutive road games Friday, Sept. 13, against Iowa (6-0). Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

Prices for single-game tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. Groups of 20 or more receive discounted tickets for $4 apiece. Season tickets are $70 for adults and $40 for youth (ages 3-12). Students with a valid SLU ID card receive free admission.

ABOUT THE BILLIKENS – Freshman forward Cristina Rodriguez, senior midfielder Jenny Hummert, sophomore forward Livi Logan-Wood and junior defender Maddy Bush have scored a goal apiece for Saint Louis. Rodriguez also has an assist for a team-high three points. Sophomore midfielder Jamei Borges has two helpers, and senior defender Jessie Jarrett owns one assist.
LAST TIME OUT – Maddy Bush, assisted by Jessie Jarrett, scored her first goal of the season in Saint Louis' 1-1 draw against Evansville Sept. 8 at Hermann Stadium. Hanna Benben tied her career high with six saves.
HEAD COACH KATIE SHIELDS – Katie Shields is in her first season as the Billikens' head coach after serving as a SLU assistant coach last year. Shields is joined on the sideline by four newcomers to the staff – assistant coaches Scott Gloden and Vince Gentile, volunteer assistant Anne Gloden and senior graduate manager Maggie Baumann.
SCOUTING IOWA – The Hawkeyes have outscored their opponents 11-1 in racing to a 6-0 start. The only team to avoid an Iowa shutout has been Western Michigan, which fell 3-1 in Iowa City two days after dropping a 3-2 decision to Saint Louis at Hermann Stadium. Nine different players have tallied at least one point for the Hawkeyes, including seven different goal scorers. Junior defender Melanie Pickert, junior forward Cloe Lacasse and senior midfielder Alex Melin lead the way with two goals apiece. Pickert also has two assists for a team-high six points. Sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Clark carries a 0.17 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. Iowa was 12-6-3 overall and 3-5-3 (tie-seventh) in the Big Ten a year ago.
THE IOWA SERIES – The Saint Louis-Iowa series is tied 2-2 with one tie. The Hawkeyes claimed a 3-0 victory at Hermann Stadium last season. The teams fought to a 0-0 deadlock three years ago in the most recent meeting in Iowa City.
UP NEXT – The Billikens play their final three non-conference games of the season next week. First up is a trip to Normal, Ill., to face Illinois State Tuesday, Sept. 17. SLU hosts UT Martin and Iowa State Sept. 20 and Sept. 22, respectively.
