Field Hockey Scores Twice in Loss to Villanova

ST. LOUIS - The Billken field hockey team scored twice, but ultimately fell to the VIllanova Wildcats, 4-2. Junior Shannon Knobloch and freshman Meredith Jeffers each scored their first goals of the season. The two goals are the most for a Billiken contest this season. Saint Louis falls to 0-6 overall.

Jeffers scored at 46:49 off an assist from fellow rookie Jenell Murphy. Knobloch tallied her score later in the second at the 48:32 mark off a corner.

Megan Rogers took six shots in the contest, but was unable to find the back of the net. 

Goalie Megan Depew-Brady faced 25 shots (six on goal) and registered two saves. 

Saint Louis will play at home for the first time this season on Friday, Sept. 20 when Bryant comes to Soccer Park at 1 p.m. The Billikens will also host Ball State on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. Admission for all field hockey contests is free.
