Box Score ST. LOUIS – Senior midfielder Jenny Hummert registered a game-high four shots, but Iowa State scored a goal in each half and defeated Saint Louis 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.
Iowa State (6-4) took an early lead when Jennifer Dominguez, assisted by Jessica Reyes, tallied her team-leading fifth goal of the season at the 3:12 mark. Dominguez assisted when Emily Goldstein collected her second goal of the year at 61:29.
Hummert fired two of the Billikens' four shots on goal, while sophomore midfielder Katelyn Hammarlund and freshman forward Kirsten Clemens recorded one shot on frame apiece. But Iowa State keeper Maddie Jobe kept SLU (1-8-1) off the scoreboard for her fourth shutout of the season.
The Billikens begin Atlantic 10 Conference play at home Friday, Sept. 27, when they welcome St. Bonaventure to Hermann Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m.
